Helping groups

I have put together a 3-session seminar that will help you “Live with the End in Mind”. The purpose of this workshop is to plan what will happen to you at the “end” and to help you live your life for maximum impact knowing that someday it will come to an “end”.

Session 1: Looking Back The focus on this session is on looking at your past and developing a personal timeline. Each of our lives have had times of celebration and times of heartache. We will explore these times and look for themes and patterns. Our past experiences—both the good and the bad—have made us who we are. Developing a timeline will give a better understanding of where you are at today and why. We will discuss guilt, forgiveness and overcoming grief as well.

Session 2: Planning Ahead This session focuses on the details of what happens to your body upon your “end”. We will discuss different options for disposition of the body, the importance of viewing the body, the roles the funeral or memorial service play, organ donation, pertinent legal issues, etc… I will provide each participant with a Personal Data Sheet. This can be used to write down specific information that will be needed after their death. We will also have people write their
obituary.

Session 3: Living it Out We have looked at the past and ahead to the future. Now we will discuss what people hope to accomplish prior to their obituary “going to print”. We will look at values and priorities. People will be challenged to think about the remainder of their life and what they hope to accomplish relationally, spiritually, physically, materially, etc… Our view of what happens at the end of our life should really affect how each one of us lives our life. People will be challenged to “Live with the end in mind!”

Each session will have some assignments that you will need to work through and will be expected to share with the group.

Following the 3-sessions, I am available to help you on an individual basis to process the information and to help you live a more intentional life!

If your church or community group is interested in having me come and put on this workshop, get in touch with me. This can be done over a Friday night/Saturday format.
